Thomas Müller named to MLS Team of the Matchday 2

VANCOUVER, BC – Major League Soccer announced on Monday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacking midfielder Thomas Müller has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 2 thanks to his performance in the 'Caps thrilling 3-0 victory over Canadian rivals Toronto FC at BC Place.

Müller notched a brace in the match to bring him up to 11 goals across all competitions for the club, marking the most goals scored through a player's first 17 appearances with the 'Caps in the MLS era. The Raumdeuter also created two chances, had five passes into the final third, and recorded two successful duels.

This marks Müller's fourth MLS Team of the Matchday selection dating back to last season (Matchday 30, Matchday 33, Matchday 38).

This is already the second time the Blue and White have had a player named to the Team of the Matchday, with Sebastian Berhalter receiving the honour in Matchday 1. Last season, 12 different 'Caps were selected to the MLS Team of the Matchday a total of 30 times.
