Five Whitecaps FC BMO Academy players have been called up by Canada Soccer as part of a 23-player squad for the Men’s U-16 National Team’s November camp in Costa Rica. Canada will face Costa Rica on November 11 and the United States on November 14 at the FCRF-Plycem Complex in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Both matches kick off at 10:00 local time (11:00 ET / 09:00 PCT).
Included on the roster are goalkeeper Marko Kos, defender Henry Hudspith, defender/midfielder Manav Badwal, midfielder Hunter MacGowan , and midfielder Noah Messou.
The window gives the 2010 age group two tests against regional opponents as it prepares for the next Concacaf U-17 Men’s Qualifiers, the pathway to the annual FIFA U-17 World Cup.
"With this being our final camp before the U17 World Cup qualifiers in February, it’s another valuable opportunity to work with the group and build on the progress we’ve made so far. Facing two strong opponents will be a good test for our group as we look to continue improving as a team and ensure we’re ready for the challenges in the coming months."
- Mike Vitulano, Men's U-16 National Team Head Coach and Regional Excel Director
